Kerala: A Land Of Exotic Cultures, Traditions, & Scenic Landscapes
Kerala is a land of diverse cultures, traditions, and exotic landscapes. Located on the southwestern coast of India, this state is known for its stunning backwaters, breathtaking beaches, serene hill stations, lush green forests, and rich wildlife. Kerala is also famous for its renowned Ayurvedic treatments, art forms, and delicious cuisine.
My travels to Kerala started in Kochi, also known as Cochin, which is a bustling port city that has a mix of Indian, I arrived in Kochi by flight and was greeted by a warm and friendly driver who took me to my hotel. In the evening, I went to Fort Kochi beach, where I saw a beautiful sunset and enjoyed some delicious street food.
The next day, I hired a motorbike and headed towards Munnar, a hill station nestled in the Western Ghats. The winding roads with lush green tea plantations on either side were a sight to behold. I stopped at various viewpoints along the way to take in the breathtaking scenes of the majestic hills, waterfalls, and fresh air.
Finally, I reached my resort in Munnar, where I was welcomed with a warm ‘Namaste’ by the staff. The resort was situated amidst a tea plantation, and the view from my room was something straight out of a postcard. For the next few days, I explored the charming town of Munnar, which included visiting tea estates, and spice gardens, and trekking through the hills.

The next stop on my itinerary was Alleppey, famously known as the ‘Venice of the East.’ Here, I experienced the joy of cruising on a houseboat through the famous backwaters of Kerala. The houseboats have all the modern amenities, and the meals served on the boat were delicious. I spent the night on the houseboat, and the peaceful ambiance of the backwaters left me feeling rejuvenated. Kovalam was the final leg of my travels, and what a finale it was! Kovalam is a coastal town that is famous for its pristine beaches, where I spent my last two days relaxing on the beach and soaking in the warm sun. I also visited the nearby fishing village, where I saw how the locals made their livelihood.
In conclusion, my travels to Kerala were an absolute delight. The state offers something for everyone – be it the lush green scenery, the local cuisine, or the various traditional art forms. Kerala is an excellent escape from the chaos of city life, offering a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. I would highly recommend adding Kerala to your bucket list if you haven’t already!
